Evaluation of Credit for Previous Training

If the credit is based upon a part 141 approved training course, the credit given that student for the previous pilot experience and knowledge may be 50 percent of the curriculum requirements and must be based upon a proficiency test knowledge test, or both, conducted by the receiving pilot school.

If the credit is not based upon a part 141 approved training course, the credit given that student for previous pilot experience and knowledge shall not exceed more than 25 percent of the curriculum requirements and must be based upon a proficiency test or knowledge test, or both, conducted by the receiving pilot school.

Credit for training specified above must be certified in writing by the student’s previous flight school as to the kind and amount of training provided and the result of any stage or end-of-course checks given the student.

Attendance Policy

Students will be required to complete a minimum of seven (7) hours of flight instruction per a calendar month.

Students failing to meet this standard of progress shall be placed on a probationary status for the following month. Probationary period will conclude after completion of ten (10) hours of flight instruction in a calendar month. The U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs will be then notified and the student must reenroll only after evidence that the conditions causing unsatisfactory progress have been rectified.

Progress Policy

Grading system for flight and/or ground school is as follows:
Lab stage exams are required prior to flight stage checks.
All flight stage checks are on a pass or fail system.
   a. A student has three chances to attain a satisfactory grade.
   b. Any student that receives an unsatisfactory grade must attend remedial training with their instructor before attempting to take the exam again.

Any student unable to achieve a satisfactory grade on a stage exam after the third attempt must meet with the chief flight instructor and his or her instructor to discuss what action needs to be taken prior to continuing training.

All practical flight tests will be measured against the FAA Practical Test Standards.
A minimum score of 70% is required on all FAA Written Exams and must be completed prior to practical tests.
All end-of-course practical tests are on a pass or fail system.

Students whose flight training times exceed the minimum number of hours set forth in the applicable syllabus by 120% will have their training put on hold until a meeting between the student, instructor and chief pilot to discuss the student’s progress and future training is completed.

Conduct Policy

Students will be required to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Casual attire is acceptable. Students wearing sandals and open-toe shoes are not permitted. A student arriving for a lesson without meeting the clothing requirements will not be permitted to fly and a "no-show" may be charged.

Students are required to give at least 24 hours in advance of any cancellations, excluding adverse weather conditions. A “no-show” is defined as a charge of one (1) hour of ground instruction for the instructor’s time.

Training Syllabus

A student at the time of enrollment will receive a copy of the FAA approved TRAINING SYLLABUS as required by 14 CFR 141.93 (A) (2). Contact the Chief Flight Instructor immediately if the Training Syllabus is not available.
